WGA: Chiamami col tuo nome, Scappa - Get out e Jane, le migliori sceneggiature
Sono stati assegnati ieri i WGA Awards, i premi assegnati dalla Writers Guild of America Award, associazione degli sceneggiatori americani, che premiano le migliori sceneggiature per il Cinema, la TV e la Radio.
In questa 70a edizione il premio per miglior adattamento per una sceneggiatura è stato assegnato a James Ivory per Chiamami col tuo nome. Il film di Luca Guadagnino, tratto dall'omonimo romanzo di André Aciman, ha sbaragliato la concorrenza composta dagli stessi titoli con cui si contende l'Oscar nella stessa categoria: The Disaster Artist, Logan, Molly's Game e Mudbound. Il prossimo 4 marzo, alla cerimonia di premiazione degli Academy Awards, potrebbe quindi portarsi a casa anche l'ambita statuetta.
Il riconoscimento per la miglior sceneggiatura originale è andato ad un altro candidato agli Oscar, Jordan Peele, che con il thriller Scappa - Get out, ha superato The Big Sick, I, Tonya, Lady Bird e La forma dell'acqua.
Brett Morgen, ha invece ricevuto il premio per la Miglior Sceneggiatura di un documentario, il suo Jane, dedicato alla celebre primatologa Jane Goodall e prodotto da National Geographic Studios, è stato proiettato a Roma, in occasione della Festa del Cinema 2017.
